my stay at city gate was fantastic! the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, offering me a room on the first floor to help with my pregnancy. loved the well-stocked bar and the healthy breakfast options. the room had beautiful decor, and i really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the nespresso machine and fresh milk in the fridge.

We had an awesome stay with friends! Spent our nights enjoying a brand new stand-up comedy night and even caught Nina Rose performing. The rooms were nice and offered a cozy vibe. About a five-minute walk to the shops, making it super convenient for a weekend getaway!

The only downside was parking, as there wasn’t really anywhere to unload our bags in front of the hotel, which was a slight hassle.

It was an excellent fit for a brief pause in Exeter with very good value for money. The lady at reception was friendly and even offered to carry my bags to my room. Make sure to enjoy the beautiful outside space while having a drink.

you wont get a better location in exeter than the city gate, less than 5 minutes from the city centre. the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was delish—really good choices. all the staff were super friendly and welcoming, made my stay feel special. the air-con worked really well, which is a big plus! plus, they have a nice garden for chilling outside after a long day.

the only bummer was that i had to wait a bit at check-in cause no one was at the desk. also, the parking situation could be tricky and a bit expensive.
